Foreign Service Association provides financial backing for LRH

The Foreign Ministry and Sri Lanka Foreign Service Association (SLFSA) has recently conducted two fund raising events in support of the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital (LRH).

Funds amounting to R 1.5 mn that were raised through the International Bazaar and Cultural Extravaganza 2023 held on December 02 in support of the LRH Neurosurgical Project, were recently handed over to the LRH.

The Association thanked the diplomatic missions and international organizations, based in Colombo, for generously supporting their initiative.

“This is a continuation of the charity cause initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to celebrate ‘75 Years of Diplomacy’ through the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka (SOSL) performance in June this year,” a spokesperson for the Association said.

In addition, SLFSA donated Rs. 875,000 to support the LRH fund to procure life-saving drug ‘surfactant.’The SLFSA says the funds raised will contribute to sustaining and enhancing these invaluable services.The SLFSA is the professional association of the officers of the Sri Lanka Foreign Service, established on October 01, 1949.
