Flexiprint wins Gold at National Business Excellence Awards
Flexiprint Pvt. Ltd wins Gold award for Printing and Related Service Sector at National Business Excellence Awards- 2021 organised by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka. The award ceremony was recently held in Colombo during which Flexprint Managing Director Sathis Abeywickrama received the award. Flexprint is a highly reputed packaging materials supplier which began its dynamic journey in 1994. At the time, Abeywickrama was invited to supply the best quality printed tea bag tags and printed tea envelopes to the local and international tea trade. Already armed with a brilliant track record of providing high quality printed offset packaging to the tea trade, he started providing tea bag tags and tea envelopes using flexography and water-based inks for the first time in Sri Lanka. Since then, Flexprint grew to be the most trusted flexo printing outfit in South-East Asia.
Given the state-of-the-art machinery, the Company is now in the capacity to undertake any orders at any time, which ensures timely delivery to customers. Towards that end, Flexprint, which only had one printing machine and 10 employees at its beginning, has eight flexo machines and employs over 275 workers by present. Flexprint is supplying several packaging products such as tea bag tags, envelopes, pyramid tea bag tags attached with mesh to the world’s renowned tea brands. The Company also customises packing for export cargo to offer greater customer convenience and maintain minimum lead times despite all the prevailing challenges. Commenting on the awards ceremony, Abeywickrama said: “This award further reflects the confidence of our customers in the quality of our products. I must mention that this is a collective achievement of our Company’s most dedicated employees at all levels. This award will definitely be a great motivation to provide even more quality services to our customers in the future.”

Held after an eight-year hiatus, Drupa 2024 was a landmark event, marking significant advancements and opportunities in the global printing industry.
AHK Sri Lanka played a pivotal role in organising and supporting the delegation, which comprised 17 members from the Sri Lanka Association for Printers (SLAP), representing eight companies from the commercial, newspaper, stationery printing, and packaging industries. This pioneering effort by AHK Sri Lanka not only showcased the diverse capabilities of Sri Lanka’s printing sector but also facilitated vital bilateral discussions with key stakeholders from the German printing industry.
