Five indictments against Johnston to be taken up next month

Five indictments filed against SLPP MP Johnston Fernando by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) will be supported in the Colombo High Court next month.

The first indictment pertains to alleged corrupt practices he was involved in while he was the Minister in Charge of the CWE.

The CIABOC is of the opinion that it is not necessary to obtain a travel ban against Johnston Fernando because he has already been barred from going overseas in view of an attack on Galle Face protesters on 09 May.
