Five-day AIESEC summit attracts delegates from over 20 countries
AIESEC Sri Lanka, considered a global platform for the young, will conduct a five-day ‘Asia Pafific Summit 2023, commencing April 25 at Carolina Beach Hotel, Chilaw.
AIESEC President Kaneel Dias recently explained their initiatives meant to improve leadership qualities among the youth.
“Over the past 3 decades, we have made tremendous achievements. Every year, we have not only grown in terms of the scale of what we do, but caused quite an impact on the youth. With the Asia Pacific Summit, AIESEC is also bringing recognition to the country at the global stage and contributing towards the reopening of Sri Lanka to the world.”
The Summit will moreover feature a “Global Village” that brings together the cultures from various countries and showcases their culture as well as a “Sri Lankan Night” to better showcase our vibrant culture to them.
“Asia Pacific April Summit 2023 is certainly one of the most prestigious Summits, which is to be hosted by AIESEC in Sri Lanka this time around. The Summit will be graced by delegates representing more than 20 countries. I believe that this is an ideal opportunity to bring together the youth from the Asia Pacific region to network and foster cross-cultural understanding for a better future” was what Ms.Lishani Suriyampola the Organizing Committee President told the media.
As an organization established in 1995, AIESEC in Sri Lanka has seen great development over the years. Now established in over 25 universities the membership of AIESEC in Sri Lanka continues to grow and expand over the country to create value-driven leaders through our unique development model.Further, AIESEC in Sri Lanka has facilitated many exchange programs exposing youth to cross-cultural understanding and stimulating leadership development. In addition to this, initiatives such as Amplifier an island-wide career guidance program, Youth Speak Forum a SDG aligned forum to discuss important topics and Youth4SriLanka a SDG facilitated series of projects designed to serve the communities of Sri Lanka are what makes the organization what it is today.
