First in the Firing Line

Let all the world bow low,

To journalists being targeted,

Tragically felled and silenced,

By the mighty the world over,

In orgies of blood-letting,

Merely for reporting the truth,

Writing ‘the First Draft of History’,

And putting the record straight,

Long before the pundits do,

For, if not for these brave spirits,

Ignorance would rule the world,

And Power would do all the talking.
