The festive season is certainly brightening up and everyone is eagerly looking forward to the lead up to Christmas, and the New Year, with great excitement and enthusiasm.

They firmly believe that this year the setup will be extra special and are awaiting the action, and the happenings, to make merry.

Over the past few years, since the outbreak of the pandemic, and the country’s economic crisis, there was hardly anything seasonal taking place. Everything was done on a low key.

However, this year, we are already experiencing those seasonal specials…like, for instance, the Christmas Cake Mixing ceremony at some of the five-star venues.

The Galadari Colombo held its traditional Cake Mixing, in the Centre Lobby of the hotel, with much fanfare.

This year was extra special as the theme was created and brought to life by Executive Chef Thushan Fernando.

A special parade, led by bagpipers, English guards, a team of girls dressed in festive outfits, and followed by the Chef Team, paraded across the Lobby, and it took everyone present by surprise.

The hotel’s General Manager, Sampath Siriwardena, together with his guests, and the management team, joined in as the Chef Team initiated the Christmas Cake Mixing ceremony. The evening ended with much cheer and merriment.

What’s more, the Galadari will be having their New Year’s Eve ball this year and that should be exciting news for 31st night revellers who find excitement in welcoming the New Year at a five-star setting, and with their favourite band in attendance.

The Galadari will also be having a festive special on 01st December – the lighting of the Christmas tree – and that, too, will be turned into an exciting festive ceremony.

Yes, this year there is plenty for you to look forward to at the Galadari Colombo.
