Festive season looking good

Roger Menezes, I’m told, will be seen in action in the Lobby of the Galadari Hotel, during the festive season.

He was here not too long ago and performed at the same venue… creating the kind of music that we all love to listen to.

I checked out his scene and was highly impressed with his versatility.

One can sit and listen to his music for hours, and that is because of the variety he brings into his performance.

Roger, an old Peterite who is now based in Sydney, Australia, performed with many top bands in Sri Lanka in the ’60s and ’70s.

He had his own group Roger and the Webs , as well as being a member of the Savages, Thunderbirds and the Fireflies (playing drums), and the Jetliners.

He was also seen in action as a guitarist and saxophonist, in addition to his versatility as a singer.

In Australia, he had his own group Stay Tuned.
