Festive season helps RDA to increase its revenue from expressways by over 40 percent

Road Development Authority (RDA) Director General L.V.S. Weerakoon says the RDA has recorded more than a 40 percent increase in expressway toll revenue since last Friday (22).

Weerakoon said that a toll revenue of Rs. 46,457,600 had been collected from 140,791 total exits on Friday (22) and Saturday (23) including Rs. 27,719,450 from E-01 and E-02 interchanges, Rs. 14,655,950 from E-03 and 4,082,200 from E-04.

Weerakoon said that the revenue recorded on Saturday (23) had been the highest ever recorded income in a single day on the highway. That amount was about 40% increase of an average day’s revenue.

The RDA chairman said that Rs. 42,742,200 had been collected on Sunday (24) and Monday (25).
