False info undermines Covid-19 battle – Australian HC

Holly hands over a memento to Rambukwella to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries

The Health Ministry yesterday (13) quoted Australian High Commissioner in Colombo David Holly as having told Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella false information had undermined efforts to contain the Covid-19 epidemic both in Australia and Sri Lanka.

HC Holly commended the ongoing inoculation campaign and efforts to bring the situation under control. The Australian envoy said that assistance amounting to Australian Dollars 11 mn had been provided so far. Minister Rambukwella said that the government was also looking into the possibility of strengthen the national economy.
