Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.

Showers will occur at times in Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces while showers or thundershowers may occur at several places elsewhere of the island after 2.00 p.m.  Fairly heavy showers above 75 mm are likely at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces.

Winds will be north-easterly to easterly and wind speed will be (20-30) kmph.  Wind speed may increase up to 40 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Mannar via Puttalam and from Galle to Hambantota via Matara.

The sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Mannar via Puttalam and from Galle to Hambantota via Matara will be moderate at times. The other sea areas around the island will be slight but strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.

The public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
