Factory producing banned polythene lunch sheets raided

The Central Environmental Authority (CEA) yesterday raided a factory producing banned polythene lunch sheets in the Thihariya area in Gampaha and they were in the process taking legal action against it, officials said.Officials from the Central Environmental Authority and the Consumer Affairs Authority jointly carried out the raid. The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) recovered about 27 kilos of polythene lunch sheet packets kept for sale and about 20 kilograms of “lunch sheet rolls” used for making lunch sheets.
