Eye infection spreading fast in Colombo

The Health Department of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) yesterday said there was an outbreak of conjunctivitis in some parts of Colombo.
CMC Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ruwan Wijayamuni said the eye disease had affected people in the Colombo West, Central and North and Borella areas. Common symptoms include redness in one or both eyes, itchiness in one or both eyes, a gritty feeling in one or both eyes, a discharge in one or both eyes, tearing, and sensitivity to light.
