Even after six weeks no arrests over attack on Hiru anchor Chamuditha’s residence

No arrests had been made in connection with an attack on Hiru anchor Chamuditha Samarawickrema’s Piliyandala residence up to yesterday (22), President’s Counsel, Kuvera de Zoysa told ‘The Island’.
The complaint filed in the Kesbewa Magistrate’s Court, regarding the stoning and the throwing of faeces at the Piliyandala residence of Chamuditha, the ‘Hiru’ Television announcer is to be called before the Magistrate on Friday.
Chamuditha’s house was attacked on February 14, this year. The issue was brought to the notice the Kesbewa Magistrate,by President’s Counsel Kuvera de Zoysa under ‘The victims and Witnesses Protection Act’.
Last time when the case was called before the Magistrate the police were ordered to investigate and report the outcome of the investigation, the following Friday. Any arrests would have to be made known to the Magistrate.
