Shari Jayawardhana, a student of Mrs. Saumya Jayasekera, in collaboration with twenty child artists with special needs will hold an exhibition that conveys a sense of great joy to the viewers. amidst life’s challenges.
The purpose behind this exhibition is to raise awareness about the unique abilities of Sri Lankan child artists with disabilities. The artworks demonstrate the resilience of the child artists, and their journey in dealing with their struggles and overcoming their limitations.
Part sale proceeds of Shari’s paintings and all sale proceeds from the children’s work will support the education and career prospects of hearing-impaired school children at the School for the Deaf, Ratmalana and Nuffield School for the Deaf & Blind, Jaffna.
“Art plays a vital role in creating social change. It helps us to pause, reflect and rekindle our hope for a better future” noted Shari.
