ETI directors, Ravi undergo PCR tests
Prison officers had yesterday conducted PCR tests on former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake and others remanded over the alleged criminal misappropriation of Rs 36.98 bn at the Treasury bond auction on March 29, 2016, Prison Department Spokesman, Commissioner Chandana Ekanayake said yesterday.
Karunanayake and others are currently held at the Borella Remand Prison.
Commissioner Ekanayake added that PCR tests on the Board of Directors of ETI, held in the same section, were also carried out yesterday.
The results of the tests would be known in two days and thereafter they would be sent to regular remand cells, Ekanayake said. If anyone tested positive, would be sent to Kandakadu Quarantine Centre, he added. (RK)
