Envoy Kananathan meets South Sudan President

Sri Lankan Ambassador Kana Kananathan recently met President of South Sudan Salva Kiir Mayardit at the Presidential Palace in Juba.President Kiir, who is the Chairperson of the East African Community (EAC), extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Kananathan.

During talks, Ambassador Kananathan apprised President Kiir of a collaborative initiative between South Sudan and the Kenyan-based Sri Lankan company, Mayleen Group, aimed at spearheading the construction of a modern airport in Akon city.Kananathan and President Kirr also discussed bilateral issues and investment promotion.
