Engineer rescued from burning tanker New Diamond bids emotional goodbye to hospital staff

An engineer who was rescued with severe burn injuries from the burning oil tanker New Diamond and treated at the Kalmunai Base Hospital said an emotional goodbye to the hospital staff when he was discharged yesterday.  

The engineer was admitted to the ICU of the hospital on 4 September with severe burn injuries and surgeon Dr. S. Srineethan and his medical team performed a three-hour long surgery on him. He fully recovered from the injuries after six days of treatment.   

He told the staff that he had received the best treatment from the hospital and he would never forget it would ever be thankful to the hospital staff.
