World EXPO 2020 is currently being hosted by Dubai. Having started on 1st October it will go on till 30th March, six months to be exact. It was originally scheduled for 2020 but was postponed due to COVID. Despite being postponed, the organisers maintained the name EXPO 2020 due to marketing and branding purposes. Located between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, EXPO has several pavilions organised by countries, organisations and business entities. The Emirates Pavilion is the one that has attracted most attention among visitors as it gives you a glimpse into the future of aviation with some remarkable creations.

Since the Emirates Pavilion is quite busy, you need to pre-book a slot if you intend to visit. If you have flown to Dubai on Emirates, a visit to all pavilions is free. You need to log on to the Emirates website and provide your ticket number and then your pass will be emailed within seconds.

The Emirates Pavilion gives you an idea as to how aviation will expand over the next half-century. The two-storey pavilion has become a huge attraction because it allows visitors to interact.

One of the popular segments at the Emirates Pavilion is the opportunity to design your own aircraft. From a variety of options, visitors can choose the type of engine they want for their aircraft, wings, livery and then get an opportunity to fly it through a simulator. Then, they get feedback on how they fared and the choices of design.

On the ground floor, there is also a section where a model aircraft is stationed which helps you to take a look at different types of cabins and seating. By using a visualised headset, a person gets a unique feeling as if he or she is the co-pilot and can experience the take-off, landing, flight path and many features, including a windowless experience.

One of the stations at the Emirates Pavilion is to educate you on how aviation will change over the years with a lot of emphasis placed on protecting the environment. It also shows how the airline is facing the challenges of technological advancements and investments made to stay ahead in the industry.

The quiz competition is something that visitors should not miss. It’s both educative and exciting. With a limited timeframe to answer, you’ve got to be smart, quick and intelligent. Something good to test your IQ level.

The ever-smiling Emirates staff are always willing to help you. With Emirates, language is never a barrier as the crew stationed at the pavilion speak a variety of languages as they are from across the continents. There’s also a restaurant in the upper deck that serves a variety of hot and cold meals and beverages for reasonable prices. There’s also an Emirates store on the ground floor for visitors to purchase souvenirs.

All in all, a visitor needs about two hours at least to make the most of the Emirates Pavilion experience.

It’s easily accessible, as well, with the Metro taking you there for a cheap fare in quick time. The last station in the Metro is the EXPO.
