Elephant found dead at Tambuttegama

A wild elephant was found dead in Tambuttegama on Wednesday in the Gemunupura area in Tambuttegama.

Wildlife officers have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of its death. Initial investigations failed to find any gunshot wounds or signs of electrocution from an electric fence, the elephant was found dead with blood in its mouth.

The Tambuttemaga police are assisting the Wildlife officers in carrying out investigations.
