EC informed of new vacancy in Parliament

The Secretary General of Parliament yesterday informed the Election Commission that a vacancy has been created in the House, following the resignation of MP Mujibur Rahuman.

Secretary General, Dhammika Dasanayake, wrote to the Chairman of the Election Commission, indicating that Rahuman handed over his letter of resignation, from his position as a Member of Parliament.The Secretary General has also informed that Rahuman’s resignation will be effective from 20th January, 2023.
