Media Minister Dullas Alahapperuma, speaking at a public meeting in Kamburupitiya on Sunday said that the present was a time when dreams of the past were coming true.

The Minster said that after the railway service was introduced in 1864, it was the dream of many of the day they would be able to travel to Kataragama by train. This dream had been partially realised when the first phase of the Matara Katragama railway extension became operative.

Similarly, the country would be self-sufficient in sea food. He said that dream too would become a reality soon under the able guidance of Minister of State of Ornamental Fish, Inland Fish and Prawn Farming, Fishery Harbour Development, Multi day Fishing Activities and Fish Exports Kanchana Wijesekera, Minister of Fisheries Douglas Devananda and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Alahapperuma reminded the audience that a part of of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s term and that of the government had been affected by the pandemic, which crippled the economy.
