Dr. Bellana suggests involvement of docs in A/L paper marking

The President of the Government Medical Officers’ Forum (GMOF) Dr. Rukshan Bellana yesterday (01) said the refusal by the Federation of University Teachers’ Associations (FUTA) to commence the evaluation of the 2022 GCE A/L answer scripts was unfair.

Those awaiting the examination results shouldn’t be used as a bargaining chip, Dr. Bellana, who is the Deputy Director of the National Hospital said, pointing out that regardless of whatever various interested parties propagated, it was clear the issue was political.

Dr. Bellana said that the government should explore the possibility of involving doctors in the evaluation process as part of its response to the FUTA’s challenge. “If the government invited doctors, there are qualified men and women who can do the needful,” Dr. Bellana said, urging all stakeholders to keep in mind that the GCE Advance Level examination was to be held in August last year.
