Donations to hospitals
A social responsibility initiative under the patronage of Director of Hospital Services Council Sri Lanka, Rajakeeya Panditha Ven. Rajawelle Subuthi Thera, saw consignments of medical equipment being handed over to government hospitals, including the Navy General Hospital. The handing over to the latter took place at the naval complex in Welisara recently. The programme, which was a significant gesture aimed at bolstering healthcare services, was also attended by Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, the Navy Headquarters said.
Accordingly, the Navy General Hospital and other Naval Hospitals will receive medical equipment as part of this generous gesture. In this regard, two medical equipment were symbolically handed over to the Navy General Hospital and Naval Nurses’ Training School on 17th July 2023.
Addressing the gathering, the Commander of the Navy appreciated this timely programme being conducted under the wise counsel of the Rajakeeya Panditha Ven. Rajawelle Subuthi Thera said that this project will be a great contribution to the health sector of the country. Adding further, the Commander of the Navy underlined the contribution of the Sri Lanka Navy in undertaking various infrastructure development in the health sector and pledged the Navy’s continuous support to such endeavours.
