Docs launch 24 hr strike against new tax regime

The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) yesterday (07) declared that its members would launch a 24-hour strike, comencing 8 am today, against the new tax regime, implemented by the government. A senior spokesperson, however, said that services wouldn’t be disrupted at chidlren’s hospitals and at the Maharagama Apeksha hospital. Essential services, too, would be maintained, he added.
