Dinuka spins Trinity to Tier A cricket final
An unbeaten 90 by number five batsman Rashmika Perera was in vain for Mahanama as defending champions Trinity advanced to the final with a first innings win in the Under 19 Division I Tier ‘A’ semi-final cricket encounter at Bambalapitiya on Wednesday.
Pursuing a first innings total of 229 runs to secure the final berth, Mahanama reached hundred runs for the loss of four wickets but a middle order wobble left Rashmika Perera stranded on 90 runs as Mahanama were bowled out for 194 runs.
Left arm spinner Dinuka Tennakoon was responsible for most of the damage as he took five wickets including the crucial wickets of Inuka Karannagoda and Migara Ranasinghe who put on vital partnerships of 57 (5th wicket) and 53 (7th wicket) respectively.
Trinity will now meet Richmond in the three-day final.
