DIG: Police probing second wave while battling virus within their ranks

Police spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana yesterday told the media that the police were inquiring into the second corona wave but there were delays due to corona infections among law enforcers.

Attorney-at-law Rohana, who is also the head of the Police Legal Division said that action would be taken against those who alleged in social media of scores of corona deaths on the streets. Of the 46 deaths reported so far, only one died on the street, the DIG said, identifying the victim as a beggar.
