Dialog pays homage by launching amarapura.lk website

Also publishes updated directory of Amarapura Maha Nikaya Temples

The State Ceremony to present Aktha Pathra to the new Mahanayake of Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya, the Most Venerable Dodampahala Chandasiri Nayaka Thero and the launch of the Amarapura Nikaya website was held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) on 14th January, with the participation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Mahinda Rajapaksa, Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.

Members of the Maha Sangha including Mahanayake and Anunayake Theros, Three Chapters of Maha Sangha, Leader of the Opposition, Cabinet and State Ministers, Governors, Members of Parliament and other People’s Representatives, Ambassadors, Public Officials and members of the Nikaya Dayaka Sabha were also present.

Under the guidance of the Urumayaka Ulpatha initiative, Dialog Axiata paid homage by publishing the updated Directory of Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Nikaya Temples, launching a website of the same and extending its support towards organising the ceremony. The Amarapura Maha Nikaya consists of 3591 temples and 13762 theros, falling under 22 sub-sectors in Sri Lanka, along with 48 temples overseas.
