Dhammika Perera sworn in as MP
Dhammika Perera was sworn in as a National List Member of Parliament of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna before Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena yesterday (22).
After being sworn in before the Speaker, he signed the Member Roll in the presence of the Secretary General of Parliament Dhammika Dasanayake.
Dhammika Perera has been appointed to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa MP.
Fundamental Rights Violation petitions filed, challenging the swearing in of Dhammika Perera as a Member of Parliament, were rejected by the Supreme Court on Tuesday (21).
Born on 18 December 28 1967, in Katukurunda, Kalutara, Perera is an alumnus of Thakshila College, Horana. He also holds a National Diploma in Technology (NDT) from the University of Moratuwa.
