DG Civil Aviation appointed new Chairman COSCAP

Director General of Civil Aviation AVM Sagara Kotakadeniya heading the 31st Steering Committee Meeting of COSCAP - South Asia with Capt. Marie Zubryckyj, Chief Technical Advisor of COSCAP-SA

Director General of Civil Aviation Air vice Marshal (retd.) Sagara Kotakadeniya was recently appointed as the new chairman of the COSCAP – South Asia (Cooperative Development of Operational Safety and Continuing Airworthiness Program – South Asia) during its 31st Steering Committee Meeting held in Paro, Bhutan, the Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement yesterday.

Kotakadeniya is expected to hold office for a period of two consecutive years and presides over the SC meetings which are held every year.

Khaqan Murtaza, DGCA of Pakistan led the COSCAP-SA as Chairperson for the last two years.

This organization was established back in 1997 and has taken many steps to secure civil aviation safety in the South Asian region.

Apart from the members of the organization, there were representatives from Airbus, Boeing, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Civil Aviation Authorities of Britain (CAA-UK) and France (DGCA-France) attended the meeting.
