Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal and south Andaman Sea areas will develop in to a cyclonic storm- Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre

An advisory for strong winds and rough seas has been issued by the Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre of the Department of Meteorology  at 03.30 p.m. today (30) and is valid until 03.30 p.m. on 01 December 2023.

Multi-day boats have been warned that the low-pressure area which was located over south Andaman Sea and southeast Bay of Bengal is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over southeast Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours and it will further develop in to a cyclonic storm.
