Deployment of Indian troops in SL denied

The Indian High Commission in Colombo has denied speculative reports in some sections of the media about the deployment of the Indian Army here. These reports and such views are also not in keeping with the position of the government of India, the IHC stated in a statement issued yesterday (11).

The Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs of India clearly stated on Sunday that India stood with the people of Sri Lanka as they sought to realize their aspirations for prosperity and progress through democratic means and values, established institutions and constitutional framework.
