Demonstration in Jaffna against reappointment of Charles as Governor

A number of Jaffna residents held a demonstration yesterday (19) at the Jaffna Town Hall Road against the appointment of P.M.S. Charles as the Governor of the Northern Province for a second time.

The protestors claimed that Charles had held that position for three years before. During her tenure she had neither listened to the people nor carried out any development activities, they claimed. adding that she was appointed as the Governor again because she was a staunch ally of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
