Debate on no-confidence against Speaker on 19 March

The Committee on Parliamentary Business, on Thursday (14), decided to debate the motion of no-confidence against the Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena on 19 and 20 March.

The debate is scheduled to be held on Tuesday (19) from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm and on Wednesday (20) from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.

The Acting General Secretary Hansa Abeyrathne said the vote on the no-confidence motion would be held at 4.30 pm on 20 March.

On Thursday (21) Value Added Tax Act and Regulations under the Colombo Port City Economic Commission Act would be taken up for debate.
