DDGHS tells oxygen suppliers to be humane

Deputy Director General of Health Services, Dr. Hemantha Herath told the media yesterday that the companies that supplied oxygen to COVID-19 treatment centres should act humanely.
Dr. Herath made this statement commenting on the shortage of oxygen at a treatment centre in Anuradhapura earlier this week.
“Senior Health Ministry officials intervened and solved the issue. There is the possibility that such issues arising in other treatment centres.”
The Health Ministry had clearned all outstanding payments, he said, adding that while the lockdown had been lifted, people should not undertake long distance travel.
