DC prevents SJB from removing Fonseka from membership, positions

The Colombo District Court yesterday issued an enjoining order preventing the SJB from removing its MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka from the party membership and positions.

The District Court made this order pursuant to a plaint filed by Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka against SJB office-bearers.

The order was issued by Colombo District Judge Sandun Withana, against party leader Sajith Premadasa, SJB General Secretary Ranjith Maddumabandara, Treasurer Harsha de Silva and National Organiser Tissa Attanayake.

Fonseka currently holds the positions of Chairman of the SJB and its Kelaniya Organiser.

This order will be effective until 04 March.
