Left-arm paceman Danal Hemananda rattled Royal College top order batting line up with a devastating spell before Dasis Manchanayake helped them recover to post 216 runs in the traditional Under-19 match at St. Peter’s College ground, Bambalapitiya on Monday.

Put to bat Royal struggled against Hemananda who took three wickets for seven runs in his opening spell of eight overs.

Hemananda was troubling visitors in such fashion for the second time within days. He took five wickets to contain Trinity to a low score in their traditional match on Friday.

After Hemananda’s heroics Royal were 98 for six wickets at one stage but Manchanayake held the late order batting together for them to reach 216 runs. He faced 178 balls for his unbeaten knock.

In reply the home team were 43 for one wickets at stumps.
