Customs detect cigarettes with street value of Rs 487 million

Customs yesterday detected contraband cigarettes with a street value of Rs 487 million smuggled from Dubai at its Orugodawatte yard.

There were about three million sticks of fags.The State would have lost revenue to the tune of Rs 404 million if the cigarettes had entered the market undetected.Customs are conducting further investigations.
