Sam Curran scored a match-winning 63 batting at No.4 (IPL)

Sam Curran became the first half-centurion of IPL 2024 as Punjab Kings started their IPL 2024 campaign with a four-wicket victory against Delhi Capitals at the new stadium in Mullanpur, Chandigarh. Delhi Capitals posted a total of 174/9 and were able to reach there only because of impact substitute Abishek Porel’s 10-ball 32 after they were reduced to 147/8. Curran then led the chase with his 47-ball 63 and was involved in a 67-run stand with Liam Livingstone as the Kings reached the target with four deliveries to spare.
