CPC resumes issuing fuel after a lapse of nearly one month

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) yesterday resumed distribution of fuel after a lapse of almost a month.The CPC-run filling stations will issue according to the last digit of the vehicle number plate from July 21 to 24.Vehicle with number plates ending with 0, 1, and 2 can pump on Tuesday and Saturday, 3, 4, and 5 on Thursday and Sunday and 6, 7, 8, and 9 on the other three days.

Motorcycles will receive fuel worth Rs. 1,500, three wheelers Rs. 2,000 and other vehicles Rs.7,000.However six selected gas stations in Colombo yesterday distributed fuel for those using the National Fuel Pass. The number of vehicles using the pass will be increased in the coming days until all gas stations use the pass from Monday July 25, CPC said.The Ministry of Energy said that over three million people had registered by yesterday for the fuel pass.
