CP 22nd Congress begins

The Communist Party of Sri Lanka commenced its 22nd Party Congress from yesterday (25) at Thalahena Community Education Centre. The Congress will go on till the 27th.

The Congress will be presided over by former General Secretary of the Communist Party, D.E.W. Gunasekera. The keynote speech was be made by Dr. G. Weerasinghe, the General Secretary of the party. Deputy Chairman of the Party, MP Weerasumana Weerasinghe also spoke.

Representatives of 12 leftist parties and from the Communist Parties of China, Cuba and Vietnam also attended the Congress.
