Cowboy style…on TNG live
Suzi Croner (Fluckiger) who now resides in Switzerland, didn’t expect such a terrific response to her initial ‘Boogie Nights with Suzi,’ on ‘TNGlive’ – a virtual event which was aired, on Saturday, March 13th.
Sri Lankans were able to catch the action, from 9.00 pm, onwards.
Although it was, initially, scheduled to run for one hour, the programme was so entertaining that the organisers gave the ‘thumbs up’ for an extension of 30 minutes.
Suzi’s repertoire, that evening, took in songs of Britney Spears, Amy Winehouse, Donna Summers, Tina Turner, The Spice Girls, Madonna, and a whole lot more.
Viewers enjoyed watching her unique way of presenting the big hits of the past, like ‘Rhythm Of The Night,’ ‘Funky Town, ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It,’ ‘Knock On Wood,’ ‘Amazing Grace,’ Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines,’ and also Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect.’
The feedback that came her way was amazing, and even the organisers of ‘TNGlive’ were very happy with the outcome – so much so that they are keen to feature Suzi…again.
Musicians, watching this programme, described the sound as superb.
However, there may be a few who would say that the camera angle wasn’t quite right when the live streaming commenced, and Suzi endorsed it, saying…
Suzi is now readying herself for her second assignment, on ‘TNGlive’ – something totally different, she says.
“I’m planning on doing a Country and Western night show, on ‘TNGlive.’ Yeah, me in a cowboy hat, boots and with a repertoire packed with original cowboy-style songs, and with typical banjo, violin, steel guitar sounds.”
The singer, of the group Friends fame, hinted that she may even include a horse, as well, in the setup. (With Suzi, anything is possible.)
According to Suzi, the live streaming of this programme will be on Saturday, April 10th, 2021, from 7.00 pm onwards (Sri Lankan time).
“I thought of the Sri Lankan crowd, in Australia, who said they couldn’t catch the action, the last time, because of the time difference – hence the new time schedule of 7.00 pm.”
‘Suzi’s Country Boogie Night’ will be on ‘TNGlive’, on Facebook.
Sri Lankan music lovers will remember Suzi (then Suzi Croner) as the live-wire, in the group Friends.
Her bubbly personality, and singing, made her a hit with the public.
Suzi continued with her singing career, in Switzerland, performing as a solo artiste.
However, with the pandemic, now taking a firm grip, in every part of the globe, Suzi, too, is grounded, at home, due to the restrictions, and lockdown.
However, she says she is happy, performing from home, for her fans, around the globe, via ‘TNGlive.’
