COVID-19: 518 new cases; 450 deaths,

15,583 inoculated on Monday

Out of 518 COVID-19 cases reported on Monday, 175 had been detected from the Colombo District, National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said.

The centre said 77 cases had been reported from Gampaha and 41 from the Kandy District. The countrywide coronavirus death toll rose to 450 by Tuesday morning. That day’s deaths were reported from Duunagaha, Nugegoda, Colombo 12, Colombo 13 and Minuwangoda.

 A total of 80,517 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the country since March 2020.

Meanwhile 811 people were discharged from hiospital; 9,3734,957 people are still undergoing treatment.

Vaccinations too continued with 15,583 people inoculated on Monday.
