Countrywide travel restrictions till Tuesday

Countrywide travel restrictions were imposed from 11.00 pm yesterday and will continue till 4.00 am on Tuesday (25).

These restrictions will be lifted for 19 hours on Tuesday and reimposed at 11.00 pm. They will be lifted at 4.00 am on Friday May 28.

Only those engaged in providing essential services will be allowed to leave their homes during this period.

The transportation of essential goods and patients is allowed during this period.

All economic centres will be closed until 4 am on 25 May and will be closed from 26 Wednesday to 28 Friday.

Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that police operations had been launched to arrest persons violating the quarantine rules during the period of restricted travel.
