CORRECTION

An inadvertent error had crept into the following sentence in Garvin Karunaratne’s article, ‘IMF programme: Is there a way out?” in The Island of 03 May, in the process of editing: “The golden era of Premier Dudley Senanayake’s rule, lasting 29 years, was where the people enjoyed freedom and development.” It should have read, “In that span of 29 years, the rule of Premier Dudley Senanayake was a golden era when our people enjoyed freedom and development.”

We regret the error.
