Cops arrested for mugging drug pusher

Two policemen have been arrested following an investigation conducted on a complaint received from a drug pusher.

An inquiry conducted by the Welikada police have revealed that they seized narcotics, a hand phone and Rs 26,000 from the drug pusher and then released him. The policemen are attached to Fort and Keselwatte police stations.

Sources said that they had detained the drug pusher, near a supermarket in Welikada, on the night of 23rd July, and robbed him.

At the time of the incident, the officers had been in civilian clothes.
