Cop interdicted over dollar bribe

A police sergeant attached to the Southern Express way’s Pinnaduwa was interdicted for allegedly soliciting a bribe of USD 100 from a Chinese tourist.

Following a complaint by the tourist that the sergeant had stopped him for speeding and released after obtaining 100 dollars, an investigation conducted by senior officers revealed that the sergeant had foreign currency in his possession.
