Communist Party of Sri Lanka marks 205th anniversary of Uva Wellassa uprising

The Communist Party of Sri Lanka (CPSL) is set to commemorate the 205th anniversary of the 1818 Uva Wellassa Uprising against British colonialists on Thursday (07) at the party headquarters in Borella. The event will commence at 3 pm, featuring a keynote speech by Prof. D.T. Koggalage, Head of the Department of History at the University of Kelaniya. Additionally, winners of a poetry contest centred on the uprising will be honoured with awards.
