The entrance to the Galadari Hotel

Yes, indeed, Colombo seems to be the happening place where Christmas festivities are concerned and the city is already glittering with lights, decorations, etc.

The action, right now, is centered around Galle Face Centre Road, with all the five-star venues gaily lit up…with plenty of Christmas trees, colourful reindeers, Santa Claus, and whatever that adds further glamour to the festive season.

The Galadari Hotel is beautifully decorated, from the entrance to all the outlets, patronised by guests.

The choir that did the needful

The hotel’s Christmas tree was officially illuminated on Sunday, December 3rd, giving guests that yuletide feel and creating a perfect ambience for the commencement of the festive month.

Generally, a long-stay guest at the hotel is given the honour of flipping the switch, and this year it was Mrs. Chrisanthi De Soysa who did the needful, along with the hotel’s General Manager, Sampath Siriwardene and his wife Surakshi.

The flip of the switch not only lit up the main Christmas tree, in the Lobby, but also the rest of the Christmas trees in the premises of the hotel.

The Lobby geared up for Christmas

While the formalities were taking place, a choir serenaded those present with some beautiful Christmas carols.

The entrance to the Galadari hotel is quite attractive, with reindeers brightly lit up and all the other colourful attractions that would also make you want to check out the scene inside this five-star venue, as well.

The Galadari will also be be featuring Roger Menezes, at The Lobby, from 21st December, 2023, to 7th January, 2024 – every Thursday to Sunday.

Roger, who now resides in Australia, is a versatile entertainer and the golden oldies era will be a big scene when Roger moves into action.

When he was in Sri Lanka, Roger played with many top bands, including the Savages, Thunderbirds, Fireflies, and the Jetliners.
