Colombo South Under 15 remain unbeaten to reach final

Colombo South Under 15s kept their unbeaten tag intact when they beat their Kandy counterparts to conclude the league stage of the Sri Lanka Cricket conducted Youth League Under 15 tournament at Reid Avenue on Monday.

The team captained by Thevindu Wewalwala bundled out Kandy for 65 runs to record a convincing 138 runs victory, their fourth victory of the tournament to reach the final as the firm favourites.

In the final they will meet Colombo North Under 15s who secured 61 runs victory against Galle to earn their final spot.

A brisk half century by Hirun Matheesha and a four wicket haul by Himaru Deshan were the highlights in the match played at Reid Avenue. While Deshan grabbed four wickets Dunitha Anusara and Rusandu Silva took two wickets each to bowl out Kandy in the 22nd over. Apart Gagana Lankeshwara and Dinul Wijesinghe no other batsman managed double figures.

At MCA ground and unbeaten half century by Dulneth Algawatte was the key for Colombo North’s victory as he anchored the innings for them to post 165 runs before Lahiru Lakmal and Dasith Perera shared seven wickets between them to contain Galle to 104 runs.
