Colombo BC wins Webber Cup

Colombo Basketball Club emerged champions in the Webber Cup worked off at Batticaloa last weekend. Colombo BC beat Colombo Bulls in the final while Sri Lanka Air Force secured the third spot. The occasion also marked the 75th Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of the Michaelmen Sports Club. The tournament was worked off at St. Michael’s College, Batticaloa.

Colombo BC qualified for the final having beaten Sri Lanka Army in the semis while Colombo  Bulls overcame Sri Lanka Air Force.

Chanuka Shehan emerged as the Most Valuable Player while Sasindu Dilshan was awarded as the Best Defensive Player.

The Colombo BC side comprised: Methika Jayasinghe, Shehan Fernando, Rinaz Muhais, Christian Elmo Edward, Nimesh Fernando, Chanuka Shehan Fernando, Bharatha Ranathunga, Sasindu Dilshan, Narvin Ganesh, Simron Yoganathan (Captain) Nemitha Wickramasinghe, Sameera Jayasinghe, Mr. Ajith Kuruppu (Coach) and Dr. Gayath Jayasinghe (Manager).
